The Program Manager has charge of the client relationships for projects within their portfolio, and oversees student Project Leaders (if such Leaders are assigned to individual projects), as well as assisting those Project Leaders in overseeing individual student Consultants assigned to Project Teams within their portfolio. Each active project within the iConsult Collaborative is assigned to a specific Program Manager and the Project Management Office team works together with the Director and Faculty Mentors to initiate, define, staff and execute projects, manage client relationships and resolve issues as needed to achieve project success. Officially shows that the recipient has experience as a Program Manager within the iConsult Collaborative. This validates employment at Syracuse University in this role and demonstrates experience as an IT program manager in charge of multiple ongoing projects with multiple clients and team members. The badge is awarded upon being hired to the position after a series of interviews. Individuals are chosen on their potential to succeed in the role, and the benefit that they will personally gain by being in the role. Specific criteria would include: Previous course in Information Technology Project Management or equivalent certification or work experience; Demonstrated knowledge of software development life cycle, agile, waterfall and hybrid approaches to project administration. Previous experience in an iConsult project role is preferred. Specialization in one or more information technology domains is a plus. The iConsult Collaborative Design and Approach The iConsult Collaborative at Syracuse University features student-managed, pro-bono project teams, under the guidance of faculty mentors. The College of Professional Studies oversees the Collaborative. The Collaborative provides organizations a unique opportunity to engage the University in order to give students experience with Digital Transformation projects in a variety of domains. Objectives are to: - Enable SU students from multiple colleges/schools to build a portfolio of real-world resume-building experience in Digital Transformation, enhancing their skills and marketability for employment. - Enable our business community to cultivate talent in partnership with SU, while helping them to address their own skills gap in digital transformation. - Provide project work at no cost to the client organization, focusing on the student learning experience. - With the appropriate oversight, projects can qualify as credit-bearing internship experiences for students.

The iConsult Collaborative Lead Consultant demonstrates that they are a self-starter who motivates themselves to research issues and make recommendations. They are a collaborative team player who assists their colleagues through coaching and/or instruction. These team members show potential for future leadership roles. Officially shows that the recipient has shown outstanding initiative on project work within the iConsult Collaborative. This will work in conjunction with the recipient’s resume to validate their iConsult experience as a top-level member of a team. The badge is awarded after serving actively in 2 successful iConsult Collaborative projects. Individuals are recommended for the badge by their Program Manager who had experience with managing them as a team member. Demonstrated excellence as a team member is a general requirement, showing outstanding initiative, ownership of responsibilities, and conducting themselves appropriately and consistently with high integrity.

The iConsult Collaborative Consultant badge demonstrates commitment to assigned responsibilities and the success of the client's project. The Consultant has created a good impression with their colleagues, the Client and the project leadership. They take seriously the requirement to attend and actively participate in project meetings, to complete assigned responsibilities on time and to contribute what they already know while they actively work to learn and practice new skills. Officially shows that the recipient has satisfactorily completed some project work within the iConsult Collaborative. This will work in conjunction with the recipient’s resume to validate their iConsult experience as a member of a project team. For a period of 3 months, or the completion of one assigned project: - Commitment to attend all meetings with very few exceptions; - Deliver assigned work on time as agreed with project leadership; - Communication about work status and progress toward goals; - Demonstrated integrity, initiative and participation in problem solving; - Commitment to Client service and deliverable quality; - Respectful team player; - Contribution of expertise and ideas - willingness to learn; - Overall ownership of responsibility.

The Project Lead oversees individual student Consultants assigned to a Project Team. Reporting to the iConsult Program Manager, and the iConsult Collaborative Director, they assist the Program Manager to initiate, define, staff and execute projects, manage client relationships and resolve issues as needed to achieve project success. Officially shows that the recipient has experience in project leadership within the iConsult Collaborative. This will work in conjunction with the recipient’s resume to validate their iConsult experience as an IT project leader. The badge is awarded after serving actively in an iConsult Collaborative Project Lead position for 3 months. To achieve the position, the candidate goes through a series of interviews. Individuals are chosen on their potential to succeed in the role, and the benefit that they will personally gain by being in the role. Specific criteria would include: Previous course in Information Technology Project Management or equivalent certification or project team leadership experience; Demonstrated excellence as a team member in an iConsult project is preferred.

The award is presented based on commendation received directly from the client to the iConsult Collaborative Director. The award may represent a significant deliverable, participation in a strategic project, or assistance to the client in achieving a significant goal. More than just an expression of excellent work, this award is representative of exemplary participation with the client in achieving significant objectives.
