iConsult Collaborative Program Manager

The Program Manager has charge of the client relationships for projects within their portfolio, and oversees student Project Leaders (if such Leaders are assigned to individual projects), as well as assisting those Project Leaders in overseeing individual student Consultants assigned to Project Teams within their portfolio. Each active project within the iConsult Collaborative is assigned to a specific Program Manager and the Project Management Office team works together with the Director and Faculty Mentors to initiate, define, staff and execute projects, manage client relationships and resolve issues as needed to achieve project success. Officially shows that the recipient has experience as a Program Manager within the iConsult Collaborative. This validates employment at Syracuse University in this role and demonstrates experience as an IT program manager in charge of multiple ongoing projects with multiple clients and team members. The badge is awarded upon being hired to the position after a series of interviews. Individuals are chosen on their potential to succeed in the role, and the benefit that they will personally gain by being in the role. Specific criteria would include: Previous course in Information Technology Project Management or equivalent certification or work experience; Demonstrated knowledge of software development life cycle, agile, waterfall and hybrid approaches to project administration. Previous experience in an iConsult project role is preferred. Specialization in one or more information technology domains is a plus. The iConsult Collaborative Design and Approach The iConsult Collaborative at Syracuse University features student-managed, pro-bono project teams, under the guidance of faculty mentors. The College of Professional Studies oversees the Collaborative. The Collaborative provides organizations a unique opportunity to engage the University in order to give students experience with Digital Transformation projects in a variety of domains. Objectives are to: - Enable SU students from multiple colleges/schools to build a portfolio of real-world resume-building experience in Digital Transformation, enhancing their skills and marketability for employment. - Enable our business community to cultivate talent in partnership with SU, while helping them to address their own skills gap in digital transformation. - Provide project work at no cost to the client organization, focusing on the student learning experience. - With the appropriate oversight, projects can qualify as credit-bearing internship experiences for students.
