Applications of Business Analytics
This advanced course builds on foundational business analytics skills, focusing on practical applications and real-world problem-solving. Students will learn the basics of PowerBI or a similar data visualization tool, explore the design and implementation of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines, and apply their knowledge in a capstone project with a live client. This hands-on approach equips students to tackle complete analytics challenges and deliver actionable insights. At specified intervals, participants will complete an evaluated assessment of their comprehension and applied knowledge of business analytics:
Understand and evaluate how information technology incorporates hardware, software, people, and processes into “information systems” to create business efficiencies and value.
Explain the many different ways business collect, and organize data so that data-backed analysis and development are possible.
Identify and examine how data, information, knowledge, and analytics provide insight and/or forecasting into business operations and decision making.
